He Was Still Her Best Friend

The next morning, Daisy felt like death warmed over even with all of her precautions. Her head was splitting. What she wouldn't do for some Tylenol right now!

Leo frowned when he saw her. "…you look terrible. Are you really going to be able to make it into work today?"

She snorted before wincing as another wave of pain hit her head. "No but I still have to go over and tell them I won't be able to make it to be polite. I'm not looking forward to it since I can hardly see straight."

"I'll do it. You stay here and take it easy. If I pop by headquarters quickly to let them know where I'm going, they won't give me a hard time for it. Why don't you eat something and then go back to bed? I can come check on you on my lunch break."

Ah, he was an angel! Daisy stumbled forward to hug him tightly. "Thank you. Really."

"Any time," Leo replied with a kiss to the top of her head.
