The phone call

"Captain," Bing Wen called out, eyes flicking over his screen. "Gui Xiang Police just sent over the files on Ren Xiang and Hu Geng Xin."

Wan Yi Jun barely looked up from his notes. "Took them long enough. Open it."

Shen Junru leaned over to get a look but stayed back. "That's your territory, Bing. You take lead."

"On it," Bing Wen said with a quick nod, his fingers flying across the keyboard. The screen lit up in soft blue as he accessed the encrypted database. With a few clicks, rows of data unfolded—names, license numbers, scanned ID photos.

"Starting with license details… Here's Ren Xian Qi's," he muttered, pulling up the file. The image loaded slowly, pixel by pixel, until a youthful face stared back at them.

"Whoa," Bing Wen blinked, leaning closer. "He looks like a high schooler in this photo."
