Kervad was currently running back to where he is staying in Crazus Town. He had come here with his men to investigate another group that had gone missing as well as continue the last group's mission if it called for it. He was also told to try and get Crazus Town to join the Kokar kingdom but that was a secondary objective.
The Mayor was having hard times with a bandit clan recently which made the perfect chance to strike a deal with him. Kervad promised to protect the town and deal with the bandits if the town joined the Kokar Kingdom. It worked and Kervad was very happy. He had achieved what many had wanted to for ages.
He was going to continue his other objective the next day but a new guest had changed his plans.
He had learned all he needed to from that idiot of a merchant. He would immediately head back with his men to report to the king.
He was almost where his men stayed when he could hear someone behind him.
"You leaving the party so soon? We only just met. Don't you think that your speedy getaway could hurt the host's feelings? Was the food really that bad?"
Kervad whipped his head around and was shocked to see the merchant behind him. This started to make him sweat. What is this merchant doing here?
"Well hello, Sir Kane. I am afraid I have a place to be which is why I am in a rush. Do you need anything from me?"
"Why yes there is actually," said Kane.
Kervad was getting nervous all of the sudden. In fact, fear seemed to be seeping out of his pores. For some reason it seemed like an aura of death was coming from Kane's body.
"What is it? I would love to help if I could" said Kervad.
"That's fantastic. Then would you mind telling me why you are in Crazus Town?"
"It's nothing really. I am here to help the people get rid of the bandits that have been plaguing them."
"Hmm, and I am sure you are doing this out of the kindness of your heart."
"Well it is none of your concern sir but if you really must know it's because they will be joining our kingdom soon and the King of Kokar likes to keep his people happy."
"Well that's interesting but I do have one last thing."
"What is it merchant?" said Kervad.
"Behind you."
Kervads neck opened up and blood poured forth like a waterfall.
From behind him, a smiling Jag could be seen.
"Well, your highness I think that if we weren't in the Kokar Kingdom's good graces yet this sure kept us off them."
"I would say you are correct. Clean this mess up and deal with his friends. I am tired and want to have a glass of wine and get some shut-eye" responded Kane.
"It will be done my lord!" said Jag before hurrying off with the rest of Kane's men.
