"My lord it is so good to see you," Alfred came wobbling toward Kane and the rest of the group.
Kane had just been led through the tunnel which had brought him inside the main office inside his castle. Kane was kind of embarrassed about not discovering this earlier. To be fair he never spent much time in the office. Lucky for him the ratfolk are very clever and were able to find this secret.
"Sir I hope our preempted attack was to your liking," said Annius who had come with the rest of Kane's head honchos.
"Hahaha! We have them running for their puny lives!" said Hogar.
"Yeah, their camp is ashes and sorrow," said Dallin.
"Scag has done well as have the rest of our forces on the wall," said Kellog.
"I thought these humans were meant to be experienced," said Skag.
"I fear this is just the beginning," said Lo who walked in with Jag. Two people who Kane had not talked to in a while. He had hoped to run into Jag while in the Kingdom of Kokar but it seems he had arrived back here while Kane was out.
"You have all done well. There is much to do and I sensed a battle master with them. We must remain vigilant. I am sure you have a plan set up and I trust you to handle everything until I head back to the wall. They are disoriented and I would like to meet their leader. If no negotiations are made I want them to be annihilated. Alfred, please take these two to a spare room. Treat them well and make sure they're comfortable. Akak I will talk to you later my friend. Lo, Annius, and Jag we should talk."
Everyone nodded and Kane went to sit down on his throne. He needed to rest his feet for a bit.
"Sir Kane it is good to see you again," said Jag.
"Do you need any care?" asked Lo.
"As it is to see both of you. I trust all is well. And I am good thank you, Lo."
"I heard you went to the Kingdom of Kokar. I wish I had stayed longer so we could have met."
"It's alright I hope your time there was more productive than mine."
"I have a group working on something to make an invasion much easier and far more comfortable. I also know a few things to help us in this war. Oh! I found a group of outcasts and slum folk who seem to want to rebel against the king. It seems his rule is unloved by many. Fear is his only shield. Anyway, they have joined us and now work with my men."
"That is excellent. We must be on the defense for now but soon I will make sure their kingdom falls. Lo, how has your training been? Do we have any new healers?"
"I am pleased to say I have about ten apprentices now who know beginner healing spells. I have also trained those with no magical affinity in non-magical healing and we have about 18 of them. They are at the walls currently making sure people are cared for."
Kane smiled at this. Healers and Doctors were very useful.
"Thank you, Lo. I am glad my men now have a lower casualty chance."
"It is my duty to help those men survive. In fact, I ask to be released now so that I am returned to the wall."
"You may," recommend Kane. "Jag you may go now as well if you wish."
"Annius I want you to make sure everything goes as planned and as I just arrived I will leave the battle in your care. I trust you can manage it. As you know I wish to try and set up a meeting with the leader. They are scattered and so it may be difficult but if you could try and send the leader a message it would be very good."
"Do not worry my lord. Kellog has already gone to deal with that. In fact, we should head to the wall now and see the progress."
"Lead on," said Kane.
