“How? I can’t.” She picked up the phone, thinking. “Maybe we can meet somewhere safe at first? See if he’s on board—”
The phone pinged. She almost dropped it. As she scrambled to see it, Jason asked, “What’s it say? What’s it say?”
“Hold on.” When she got the phone turned right round again, she frowned at the screen, then chuckled.
Jason gripped her leg tightly. “What?”
“What about your wife?” she read. “At least you told him you were married.”
With a wounded look, Jason said, “Of course I did. He asked if I was a virgin and I said no, I have a wife.”
Rachel smirked. “But you’re a backdoor virgin. Did you tell him that?”
“I said I was looking to experiment,” Jason hedged. “He’s had girlfriends in the past, too.”
“So he says.” Rachel turned back to the phone. “Well, at least he won’t be toosurprised to see me.”
Fear flickered across Jason’s face. “Are you going to tell him you’ll be there now? What if he says no?”
