Chapter 43

“What’s got you so happy and why aren’t you moving? You were the one who told me that Théo is holding up traffic,” Julio grumbled.

“You ran.” Etienne embraced him. “You ran down the length of the entry hall which must be thirty-five feet from the elevator. You’re better. You ran!”

Julio stepped back. He peered down at his abdomen. “We haven’t had to use a dressing in two days. Maybe I am better.”

“Let’s go see what the doctor says.”

Adrien and Gilbert greeted them as they climbed into the limousine, and Victor and Sebastian followed them in the Navigator. The limo slowed down and stopped in heavy traffic on the way downtown. Car horns honked. Etienne grabbed Julio and pulled him onto his lap.

Adrien and Gilbert exchanged knowing glances and laughed.
