All twelve men took their beverages and dessert to the library so the kitchen maids could clean up the dining room. Armand sat at the head of the library table and the others scattered around the room on the comfortable couches, love seats, and chairs. He motioned Etienne and Julio to sit next to him.


“I have news of Peter Ames.” Armand put his cup and saucer on the library table.


Julio’s face blanched. “He’s dead, isn’t he? I’ll have to turn myself over to the authorities.”


“Julio, wait to see what news The Alpha has before you jump to conclusions and do something stupid,” Etienne snapped.


“You would be wise to listen before you speak,” Armand agreed. “Peter Ames is currently serving a prison sentence of thirty years on multiple counts of child molestation, unlawful imprisonment, and indecency.” Armand gave Julio a feral smile.
