Chapter 7

Marc was particularly solicitous to him making sure he served him right after he served himself, and Anton and Philippe seemed okay with it. During dinner, Marc tried to draw him out but didn’t ask about the scar. He asked about school, his family, his job but not his scar. These people were different. They haven’t reacted, and they didn’t ask.“I’m going for my master’s in creative writing. The old clichés, poor college student, and struggling writer apply. I’m working hard at my writing.”

“Have you sold anything yet?” Anton asked.

“Yes, a few series of gay shifter romances. I started writing them when I was seventeen as a way to make money. Now, five years later, I’m still writing. Gay romance is very popular, and so are shifters, so I combined the two and wrote my first novel. They accepted it and published it within three months. I wrote nine more in that series. They were easy to write.”

“How so?” Marc asked.
