Alpha Marc Thierry was used to the North Woods of Minnesota, so his elevation to third on the loup garou council necessitated a move to a Gramacy section of New York City. On Monday nights, his housekeeper is off and Marc doesn’t like casseroles. He orders Chinese and gets a musical voice on the line that calls to him. To his delight and surprise, the guy on the phone delivers his food and is his destined mate. Unfortunately for Marc, Colin Callahan thinks the only reason Marc could want him is biological -- he has to like his mate. Colin has a scarred face and thinks no-one could love him as he is. Can Marc convince him otherwise?

Scarred Mate

He pushed a button. “Alpha, please call Alpha Clavier and come over with the Alpha Mates. I screwed things up, and I need help.” He ended the call. Marc walked back over to Colin and held out his hand. “You’ll stay until they get here?”


Colin didn’t take his hand, but he nodded his head. Marc let him choose where to sit. Colin avoided the couch and took a side chair. “They’ll be here within thirty minutes. Are you hungry? I can have Michelle bring up the croissants and pastries.”


“I suppose she should. We have company coming and after inviting them, we should feed them.” Marc brightened at the word we,but was careful not to show Colin that he heard the Freudian slip.


“I’ll tell Michelle and Giles.” Colin walked out of the room leaving Marc more hopeful that his mate would stay with him.
