Alpha Marc Thierry was used to the North Woods of Minnesota, so his elevation to third on the loup garou council necessitated a move to a Gramacy section of New York City. On Monday nights, his housekeeper is off and Marc doesn’t like casseroles. He orders Chinese and gets a musical voice on the line that calls to him. To his delight and surprise, the guy on the phone delivers his food and is his destined mate. Philippe and Anton came right upstairs. Anton had no problem being partnered with another Beta and wished Colin well. “I’m sorry that you didn’t pick me, it’s a great honor. However, Philippe has more patience than I do, and you’re human and don’t know our ways.”


Philippe took Colin aside and told him how glad he was that Colin picked him. Of the two Betas, Philippe felt that he understood humans better than Anton did, Philippe having a half-human mother and a human grandmother. Both Anton and Marc agreed.
