Before he could fully wrap his head around the whole idea, Maria from security came over to them.
“Hey, Henry,” she greeted. “Dickhead Blaine said you’re engaged.” Her gaze floated from Henry over to Luke and she smiled. “But your fiancé definitely doesn’t look like a dead fish.”
“A dead fish?” Henry questioned.
She nodded and took a sip of her wine. “Nicer than what he said.”
“Ah.” Figured. “Uh, Maria, this is Luke. My…fiancé.”
Oh, that felt so nice. Even nicer when Luke lit up with a warm smile for the first time since Blaine left and politely shook Maria’s hand. Maria stuck around to chat for a few minutes and the whole time, Luke either had his arm around Henry’s waist or shoulders. His hand absently caressed Henry’s side or arm. To play up the part, Henry figured it might be okay to rest his head against Luke’s shoulder. The second he did it, Luke kissed the top of his head.
