“Do not ever, in my presence, use that honorable and respectful word in conjunction with that woman,” Bear thundered.

“Bear, hold on. I am not the enemy here. I want you to know that she is dangerous, especially to Brian. She will have to be medically supervised at all times.”

“It’s good he has me, then, I can afford it and everything else the bitch needs. However, I will not let my boy be her physical or emotional punching bag ever again. I’m leaving, but I will be back to take him home in the morning. Jim Boy will stay with him tonight. I have to go to get his things and then go to the stationhouse.” Bear straightened his tie. “Anything else you care to add?”

“Just be careful out there.”
