Chapter 31

“I can’t remember how many punches and kicks I had to endure on my head, body, arms, and legs. He also grabbed my hair and dragged me across the floor of his apartment before slamming me against the wall multiple times. I couldn’t fight back. You know as well as I do that omegas like me lack the physical strength to defend ourselves against alphas or betas. I thrashed and struggled to get away from him, and when I managed to escape, I locked myself in the bathroom and called Greg to rescue me. He and Ash arrived with the police after what felt like forever. I had to cower inside the bathroom while Howard banged against the bathroom door, trying to get to me. Fortunately, he failed. Otherwise, I might already be dead.”

Percy had no idea he was crying until Rohan touched his face gently and wiped his tears away. Then he sobbed against Rohan’s chest as the alpha embraced him.

“You’re safe now,” Rohan whispered. “You have Diego and me. We won’t let anything happen to you. Promise.”
