Chapter 5

“Not really, just keeping up with industry trends,” Martin said. He kept his eyes down, shy from his enthusiasm.

“Did I live up to your vision?”

“What?”

“Dare I assume I am, or was, your role model?”

“I did follow your career for years,” Martin admitted slowly, afraid of giving his boss a not-so-much-needed ego boost. “I kind of aspired to be you, until…”

“Until you met me,” Andrew said. His face broke into a boyish smile that quickly turned wistful.

“What are we doing here?” Martin asked. “It’s after six, I think the aquarium’s closed,” he said, thankful for the change of topic.

“I made a call,” Andrew smiled again.

“You didn’t.” Martin could hardly believe it as he made his way out of the car. “You gone and booked the entire aquarium just for us?”

“You said you wanted to do something you could pay your own way for, so you can leave your $20 admission at the door if you wish,” Andrew said.
