Chapter 26

The first hour or so of the morning was dedicated to carefully unloading the organ from the truck and strapping it to the lift so it could be moved up to the loft. Everyone who wasn’t doing anything else important was gathered to help. Since Glen and Lawrence only had to put in the railing to finish the loft, which couldn’t be done until the organ and its pipes were installed, they were dedicating their whole day to dealing with the new organ.

Although it was a change of pace, the work was still somewhat tedious. They also had to be extremely careful not to damage anything, as even the slightest dent in one of the pipes could drastically alter the sound. It made for a poor combination, since everyone was stuck between not giving a shit about inching the organ parts slowly across the floor and near neurotic perfectionism in the task.
