Chapter 9

“This weekend. Saturday. We can spend the day together. What do you say?”

“I like that idea.”

“Me too.” Something romantic glimmered at the corners of his tranquil eyes. I really wasn’t sure exactly what their pools suggested lust and tenderness; something between a zoologist and insurance salesman that could last for years to come, or simple uncertainties. But both of us could have easily fallen under their remarkable spell.

“My clothes, may I please have them?”

He fetched them for me. While passing the heap to me, he said, “Really, you don’t have to go.”

“I must.”

“You do?”

“I do.”

“Such a pity. We could have had a great time together today. I’m sure something exciting could occur.”

“Saturday I can be yours. Call me with the details.”
