Chapter 25

The art dealer sits behind her desk and a steaming cup of Madagascar coffee. She informs, “I’m outraged at you, Storm. You’re letting your penis think for you. I’m very disappointed in your decisions regarding Trent Long.” She takes a sip of her coffee, swallows, and adds, “I swear, it’s like you’re trying to hurt me on purpose.”

“Barbara, that is not true. I would never intentionally hurt you.”

“Your actions speak differently.”

I have unfortunately disclosed the specifics of last night and this morning with her. No detail was spared regarding the lifeguard finding his way into my bungalow after dark, and then into my bed. I have also enlightened Barbara with the news that I woke in Trent’s arms, details of our sexual morning play, eggs Benedict for breakfast in my kitchen, a shower together, and how he kissed me goodbye, explaining that he would see me again soon, and would miss me in the interim.
