Chapter 30

“A snob, huh?”

“You could say that.”

“That sucks.”

“No kidding.” Liam finished his sandwich, balled up the paper and tossed it into a nearby trash can. “A three pointer.”

“Basketball, right?” Jace did the same and shook his head when the paper landed on the ground. “A no pointer.”

“Practice, Jace, practice. Okay, we should probably head out. I have to get back to the gym and you need to go home and sleep.”

“A bit early for that still, but yeah.” Jace smiled. “This was fun.”

“It was. We should do it again. Before snowfall makes eating in the park a no-go.”

“Maybe next Saturday or Sunday, if I’m still sane after opening night?”

“Works for me, so yeah,” Liam grinned. “We have a date on Saturday.”

Liam almost laughed when Jace swallowed hard before replying, “Or something,” then quickly finished the last of his drink.

“Does ‘appointment’ work better for you?”
