Chapter 12

They didn’t go to The Hines’ this time. They were both hungry but the food wasn’t all that important. What was important was the issues they had to discuss, and to Brian, the lovely company he had.

Evan wore a dark brick-red sweater, which made his blondness even brighter and accentuated his golden brown eyes. Brian turned so weak at the knees when Evan stepped out that he had to hold onto the nearest pole. Evan only grinned in his innocence, unaware of the ruckus Brian went through.

They had their coffee while waiting for their orders.

“So,” Brian started. “I understand you were mad, and I’m truly sorry. It was a spur of the moment decision, being Brian andBen. I thought I didn’t want you, us, to feel awkward during the day after what we did at night.”

“Is there someone else? Ben, well, yousaid there were other candidates.”

“No. Nobody else.” He didn’t know if it meant anything but Evan looked relieved, though just for a second.
