Chapter 51

“Don’t be long,” Beckley said.

“Just don’t fall asleep.”

“I wasn’t planning on it, big guy,” he called from the bed, perhaps anticipating our sexual escapade.

I did a quick wave goodbye that was only temporary, made way downstairs in my jeans and ended up in the foyer. The doorbell dinged another time and I called out, “Coming!”

Beckley heard me and left out a heavy laugh from our bedroom. Then he called down to me, “Not yet, Johnny, but you will be!”

A smile garnished my face as I unlocked the Tudor’s front door, turned the glass and steel structure’s knob, and pulled the door open.
