Chapter 10

With the presentation of House of Lauré’s summer line in the works, Mark was once again spending most of his time at photo shoots. There were also promotional ventures, which usually involved showing up at various functions and being ‘social’, as he thought of it. Often as not, Paul accompanied him to help him field questions, both business and personal.

It was after one of those, as the two men made their way to the limo provided by the agency, that Paul said, “You know, half the people who were there tonight are certain you and I are a couple.”

“Not surprising.” Mark smiled at the younger man. “And not unwelcome either.”

Paul looked pleased as he cocked an eyebrow. “Really?”

Mark nodded. “It keeps me from having to deal with the subtle, and not so subtle, come-ons from some of the men.”

“Oh.” Paul’s face fell, although he obviously tried to hide his disappointment.

Oh boy, don’t tell me…

“You thought there might be another reason?” Mark asked softly.
