“What if it isn’t Angelo?” Mark asked.

“Mark, we’ve gone over this already. The chances are ninety-nine to one he’s going to want to do the job himself. It has to be a big thorn in his side that he didn’t manage to kill you when he had the chance.”

“For an enforcer, failure is not an option,” Leone stated positively. “He will want to complete the job personally.”

“All right, I believe both of you so let’s try to put this out of our minds at least for tonight.”

“That did help, some,” Mark admitted several hours later as he sat on the edge of the bed, taking off his shoes and socks.

Paul sat on the other side doing the same thing. He nodded, apparently realized Mark couldn’t see him and agreed aloud that it had. “You can use the bathroom first. I just heard his door close, so he’s finished in there.”

“No, go ahead. Just leave some hot water.”
