Chapter 11

No, Sharon doesn’t have time for a girlfriend these days, not with these clients. Her mentally troubled patients are her priority. Her life. Her own little Grayville. How she goes from day to the next day.

Some people (family, friends, and co-professionals) insist she’s straight. Sharon honestly doesn’t know how they devise this perception, but they do. Truth is she dated a cop three years ago. Some beautiful sweetheart with thin shoulders, large bosom, Boston accent, and wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. Sharon always called her Allana, but her name was Adella. The relationship lasted seven months. The relationship fell apart because Allana/Adella was transferred to San Diego, where she still lives today. Sometimes Sharon calls Adella and they discuss their mundane lives. Weeks will pass without the two speaking by using IM, Facebook, Twitter, email, texting, or snail mail; just the way Sharon likes, of course.
