Chapter 16

“What was that?” asked one, pointing to the fence where Taal had been only seconds before.

“What?” asked Julian.

The other two policemen grabbed him and pulled him to his feet.

“What was that? By the fence?” asked the officer again.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” said Julian. “I was asleep until you came along.”

The officer turned and walked away, the other two policemen followed behind with Julian securely between them.

“What’s going on? What have I done?” asked Julian. “This is the second time this has happened. What have I done?”

He was taken to the Department of Justice, to a dark room with a single light. He was put in a large chair, tied there, and left alone for what seemed like an eternity. He closed his eyes against the brightness of the light and performed a meditation, which not only calmed him, but helped to pass the time.

A violent shake brought him back to the present.

“M Sector park, Julian James, 41329. You seem to like it there.”
