“What is it with the whole blue and red thing with you two?” Barry asked, thinking complexions or eye colors or…

“We both hate doing laundry,” Jake admitted. “When we have nothing clean to wear we cram it all in the machine together. When it stops and it’s dry we know that anything red is mine and anything blue belongs to Jimmy.”

Barry chuckled. “But what about socks, jeans, that sort of thing?

“We buy black socks in bulk. We always get the same brand so there’s no problem about matching them up. We’re both the same size so we just share them. And we scribble with blue or red permanent markers on the labels of our T-shirts, jeans etc.”

“Clever,” Barry conceded.

They pulled up in front of the ranch house and Jimmy emerged from the barn, his blue shirt dusty and sweat-stained. Barry swallowed down a moan of desire.

“You two’ve been hours. Thought I’d have to send out a search party,” Jimmy said, pulling Jake into a full-body hug and a searing kiss that seemed to go on and on.
