“Have a seat while I make us some coffee.”
Lynn put his keys on the table in the kitchen, removed his wrap, and hung it over one of the kitchen chairs. He opened a cabinet over the sink and took out a coffee filter. He added some Nescafe, turned on the coffeemaker, and waited for it to brew. A few minutes later, he brought two full cups into the living room and placed them on the table. Lynn took a seat beside Duncan and grabbed one of the cups.
By this time, Duncan had removed his jacket and bowtie and placed them on one of the arms of the sofa. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone, and his skin looked edible. Duncan took the other cup and sipped the hot liquid.
“This is great, thanks. I love Nescafe.”
“You can tell by the taste, huh? Me, too. Smells good, very aromatic.”
Sipping their coffee, they relaxed against the cushions, letting the quiet of the house soothe them.
“How long have you lived here?”
