Chapter 7

“I already told him that,” said Ryan.

“Well he hadn’t heard it from me yet, so shh!” Eliza was two years younger than Ryan and nearly a head shorter, but that never stopped her from being the bossy middle child. She had the sort of attitude you didn’t argue with, which was one of the reasons I was so glad to have her on my side when I came out. She hugged me again. “Having you so far away is awful, especially since Greg and I moved further south. I mean, I love you and everything, kid, but that extra hour drive is harder than it looks.”

“It’s okay, I get it,” I said. “Why do you think I never come visit you two?”

“Because you’d never get a moment’s rest,” Greg said. “Eliza would drag you all over the place showing you the sights or taking you into the city. Not to mention our pullout couch is less comfortable than a pile of rocks.”
