Chapter 13

“No more hospitals, Tom. You know I’ve had enough of those.”

I understood him, also exhausted from our hospital trips in the last week: two opinions from different cancer specialists, biopsy, one urologist visit, CAT scan, numerous blood tests and ultrasounds. Another trip to a hospital (particularly over a one-inch cut along Seth’s right temple) would have driven us mad. Humans, both male and female, I had learned, were only capable of so many trips to hospitals or doctor offices. Insanity was questioned after the first ten in seven days, of course. And one’s strength to deal with such events was limited.
