This night, after a few games of pinochle and some heavy drinking under dim, yellow light at a battered picnic table in the kitchen area of the cabin, the men decide to go to sleep.


Marlin and Tucker escape to their bedroom, closing its pine door. Brand finds the second bedroom, strips down to his bare bottom, and snuggles under two thick comforters, falling asleep in less than five minutes. Kye chooses to sleep on the couch in the living room area, not yet ready to cuddle against the boxer’s ripped body. Although Brand is beautiful and Kye hasn’t been with a man in more than three months, the two bachelors do not meet tonight. Separately, they curl in balls. Brand finds dreams and light snoring, perhaps the way it is meant to be for him.
