“We’re going to make a few changes around here. We told the kids we’re going to homeschool them next year and they weren’t happy about it, but we obviously need to because they’re meeting some pretty bad influences out there.”

“So you’re just going to lock them up in this house?”

“I didn’t say I’d lock them up.” Tom lit a cigarette. “But they’re never going to have the opportunity to do anything like this again.”

Ash and Dayna sat together on a high hill at sunset overlooking thousands of beautiful trees and seas of Kentucky bluegrass. The boys were off looking for fruits and vegetables, or at least that’s what they said they were doing.

“This is amazing,” Dayna whispered.

Ash looked down at her and smiled. “Yeah.”

Then she mentally kicked herself. She couldn’t get carried away.
