Over dinner, Dreux asked, “How are we going to find the final Stone?”

“We’ll find that trader,” Wray said, “and ask for it back.”

Airk surveyed the room. Drunk with wine, he staggered to his feet, too fast for Shaela to pull him down. “Hey!”

All eyes turned towards him. Estelle and Jaelin ducked their heads while Shaela busied herself with Kitt.

Airk paid them no heed. “Anyone here know of Gypth named Ikpikpuktok? Real big hairy type of guy?”

No one replied.

When Airk sank back to his seat, Shaela slapped him hard across the mouth. He stared at her, ignoring the blood on his lip. Kitt stared at his hero in wide-eyed surprise. “What’d you do that for?” the outlaw cried.

“You’re acting like an idiot.”

Kitt turned away and met the eyes of the Baret Wray. Something in the Baret’s gaze made Kitt cup his hands to his mouth to smother the laughter threatening to come.
