Brad Sturgis, adopted son of Andy Barnes and David Bennett, is all grown up and ready to face life with his boyfriend, Hank Reynolds. However, he soon discovers life away from the Bennett-Barnes household proves much trickier than it seemed when he was growing up.<br><br>Brad finds many things in Hank’s work as a horse trainer competing for the man’s attention and affection. After checking in the barn and not finding Reggie there, Hank strode quickly among the many warm-up areas. Brad could hardly keep up. When Hank Reynolds was in a take-charge mood he moved with authority. Brad’s pride at being associated with this man surged within him. 


After several minutes of searching, Hank stopped, took off his hat and scratched his head. 


“Where the hell is he?” he asked no one in particular, looking around at the many pens filled with horses and riders being warmed up for their classes.


Brad shrugged his shoulders. Just at that moment two riders went by. 


“Can you imagine the nerve of that guy?” one said to the other. 


“I know,” the other woman replied. “Comes into jumper warm-up and demands the jumps be set for him. Who the heck does he think he is? Who does he ride with anyway?”


The first girl said, “I hear he was with Tim Towers but Towers threw him out.”
