Chapter 20

On the appointed day we arrived at the county building. Meg, Kathy and their spouses met us on the steps outside. It was good to have them there. We entered the building, went through the security checks, and were directed to the assigned courtroom.

When we rounded the corner to the hallway, I was in for a shock. Gathered there was almost the entire staff of the middle school as well as several dozen students and their parents. I was overwhelmed. They cheered as I came around the corner and high-fived us as we entered the courtroom.

“Go get ‘em, Mr. B!”

“Give ‘em hell!”
