Chapter 26

Grantland.

“Shit.” Will turned in his seat to keep the car in view. At the end of the block, it made a right, coming around for a third look. “That son of a bitch.”

Excited, Corey leaned across him to check out the tail lights on Grantland’s car. “What? Is that the guy? Is that him?”

Will glanced at him, grim. “I don’t know. Sam said the cop who picked him up was on duty, and Grantland wasn’t last night. I already checked. So what the hell’s he doing here?”

“But he ison the force, though, right?” Corey’s gaze shifted to Will. “I mean, he’s obviously casing the curb, don’t you think?”

Will frowned as he stared down the empty street where Grantland’s car had been moments before. “But why?”

Throwing a glance at his friends on the street corner, Corey set his chin on Will’s shoulder. His breath was hot in Will’s ear when he whispered, “I got a plan. Follow me.”
