Coby must see the horror rise in my face because he tightens his arm around my waist and gives me a bitter smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “I’ll not lie to you, Dae. I came in here the other night looking to see what he brags about. He’s just so much talk. I had to see for myself if you’re all that.
