Caroline and Cyril have recently wed and are honeymooning on the Isle of Man, a glorious spot in the middle of the Irish Sea marked by picturesque villages, rocky cliffs, and bracing winds. Caroline is immediately drawn to the island’s history of rampaging Vikings, tales of mermaids and legendary kings, and the friendly inhabitants with quaint superstitions and proverbs. A Manx Tale

The light seeping through the basement window illuminated the two large words Caroline had written on the pane.Cyril noticed them immediately and wasted no time in climbing the fence.The razor sharp wire cutting into his hands and wrists was no deterrent.He kept on going,seemingly enduring the pain,and moving as fast as he could,pushing himself up and over the top of the fence.


Leslie took off his coat and held it out to Edward.“Here,use this for your hands,love.”He then kissed his lover and ran off in the direction of the sentry station.


As soon as he’d made it over the fence,Cyril came crashing through the basement window.Edward was seconds behind him.Running over to Caroline’s side,Cyril threw himself over her body as the broken glass and bullets flew about the basement room.The air suddenly filled withthe smell of burning sulfur and smoke,making it difficult to breathe.


Mrs.Bundy turned her attention toward the window and shifted her target from Caroline to Edward.
