Kevin nodded. “Yeah. Apparently it was built by this couple. He fished, but they were weavers, too. So they made the big window, for the light.”

“I’ve seen it before, up north. But never down here,” Web said.

Kevin made a noise of agreement. “It’s really unusual. It was bloody cold though, before I had the double-glazing put in. I slept on the window-seat for the first six months and only bought a proper bed when the winter started to set in and it got really draughty.” He gestured to all the cushions and blankets. “I perch up here now and draw and watch the sea. We can take an end each, if you like?”
