“I’ll need to make a call.”

“Idon’t trust him.”We’d pulled into an empty gas station and leaned against the car, watching Sebastian as he used a dilapidated old phone booth. It was the only one we’d been able to locate that still had a receiver. “He’s too good-looking, for one thing.”

He wasn’t any better looking than Adam, but I didn’t say that.

“And who’s he talking too?”

I looked over and Adam was staring daggers at him.

“I don’t have much choice.” With the restaurant closed, he was the only witch I’d had any idea of how to find.

The loud screech of metal on metal drew my attention back to the booth where Sebastian fought to push open the door.

“Piece of shit.”

“It’s getting late,” I called, and he rolled his eyes. “You ready?”

“Yeah, I have us a portal. There’s one being opened in the Shrine north of us. We just need to get there, find it, and go through.”

“Sounds easy enough.”
