Two weeks after Philip d'Autremont is acquitted of his wife's murder, it's time for him and his partner and lawyer, Charles Barnett, to start building their life together. On the second Friday we were back home, we filed simultaneous civil lawsuits: one in Virginia seeking $10 million in damages from the Foible organization and the allegedly Rev. Foible individually; one in Atlanta against the police department, naming the department and half a dozen of its officers, also seeking $10 million; one against the office of the district attorney; and one against Wetherbee individually, each seeking similar amounts.
