“Making a baby should be an act of love between two people who love each other, should it not?”

“Too true, but we did the next best thing. Are you sure you want to hear this?”

“You started it, my boy, finish it. We’re all educated adults here.

“Well, in a nutshell, Philip and I made love and collected the byproduct, if you will, in specimen jars. The sperm that produced these two babies was the end result of an act of love between two people who love and care for each other deeply.”

“My, my,” she said, “I had no idea you were such a romantic. I’m glad you told me—it reinforces my high regard for both of you.” She looked thoughtful for a moment. “You will, of course, need to hire a nanny.”
