“Okay, we’ll deal with that later. Right now, I need to focus on getting you guys out of here,” I said.
“Does my dad know about this?” Larry said.
“Yes. Roger’s father is driving your father and Tom’s father out here. You must be Randy,” I said to the one boy I didn’t know.
“Yes, Sir,” he said.
“I’m sorry to have to meet you under these circumstances. Is there anyone I can call for you?”
“I’m pretty sure that Susan called my parents after I gave her my cell phone. She ran down her batteries filming the fight.”
“She told me,” I said. “She’s one cool girl to think of doing that.”
“She’s pretty smart. I gave her my keys so she could drive my truck over here.”
“Okay, this is what Susan told me happened.” I told the boys what she’d said and added, “Do any of you have anything to add to her statement?”
“No, Sir,” Roger said. “That’s about it.”
“Okay,” I said. “You guys sit tight and stay cool. I’ll have you out of here as quickly as I can. By the way, I need some information.”
