Charles and Philip Barnett have settled down to raise their children, but their domesticity is disrupted when Philip's nephew Steve is delivered to their doorstep early one morning after being beaten senseless by his homophobic father.<br><br>So the family grows, but of course, that's the easy part. A rabidly fundamentalist sheriff and a gay-bashing incident leave Steve and his new boyfriend in legal hot water and at the mercy of the deputies' harassment, and Charles must once again take up the fight for justice for his loved ones.

A female voice said, “Okay, guys, let me do the talking.”


The camera shot shifted to the driver’s window as a deputy sheriff came into view and said, “License and registration, please.”


“We weren’t speeding,” the female could be clearly heard to say.


“License and registration, please,” he said.


“Deputy,” she said, “I must inform you that you are under court order to cease your harassment of these two young men and their crews”


“Sheriff says not to worry about what that nigger judge says; we’re doing the Lord’s work,” the deputy said. “What are you, another one of those faggot-loving reporters?”


“No, Deputy,” she said, “I’m Captain Thelma Gamble of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and you are under arrest.”


She flashed her badge and opened the door of the truck. As she did so, an unmarked car drove up to the scene, and two officers jumped out with their guns drawn. The deputy was cuffed and taken away in the unmarked car.
