“You bet,” Philip said. “Roger’s father and I financed the first truck and trailer, and the boys paid it off in record time, so we financed a second truck and trailer. They’ve very nearly paid that debt off, as well, and they paid cash for the latest equipment.”
“Not to mention the fact that they’ve been buying their own clothes for nearly a year and will be paying their own way to Tech,” I said.
“Good for them,” Sylvia said. “They also make a really cute couple.”
“Yes, they do,” Gran said. “I’ve watched them closely, and each of them always seems to know what the other is thinking. If they’ve ever had an argument, it certainly doesn’t show.”
“I think they trust Philip and me enough that they would come to us if there was ever a problem,” I said.
“I don’t know about Roger,” Marie said, “but my son thinks you and Philip walk on water. He’s made that quite clear to me.”
“Sis,” Philip said, “all we’ve done is be there for him.”
