“This looks great,” I said.
“Too right,” Mike said as he opened the gate. “I just had a thought.”
“What?”
“Our next improvement should be an electric gate.”
“That’s not a bad idea. We’ve had to do this in the rain a couple of times.”
“I’ll get some prices.”

WE GOT IN THE TRUCK and drove down the new concrete driveway to the cabin. The boys had brought us the remote, and I used it to open the garage door. We put Thor on his leash and went out into the yard and walked part of the way up the driveway. “Randy did a really thorough job,” Mike said.
“No kidding.” The remains of the old gravel drive had been scraped to each side of the new concrete and utilized to line the drainage ditches on either side. He’d even installed small blocks of concrete at intervals to help slow down erosion in the ditches.
“I think we need to plant some ground cover of some kind on the embankments,” he said.
