I said as much to Mike, and he replied, “Maybe we ought to have Hugh check out the availability of this lot as well.”

“Okay,” I said. “It won’t hurt to look into it. Meanwhile, I want to plant the last fifty feet or so of this lot in solid Rhododendron and other shrubs.”

“I’ll get the graph paper and the measuring tape.”

“Works for me, but it’s a little too late in the season to plant anything.”

“I know, but we’ll be ready when the time comes.”

The boys had to stop the clearing before lunch so they could get ready to go to work, but they promised to have the job completed by Christmas. We had a quiet afternoon, and that evening, the power went out for about twenty minutes, which prompted me to suggest that we have a generator installed. Mike agreed, and when the power was restored, we spent some time on the web looking for solutions. By the time we went to bed, we’d made a decision, and we planned to place an order as soon as we were home.
