Noah walked over to the organ and tapped Tom on the shoulder. The music stopped and Noah said, “We’re here.”
“Do you need to change?” Tom said.
“No.”
“Then let’s be off.”
“I left the Explorer behind Chris’ car,” Noah said.
“Then we’ll take it.”
“I noticed that you weren’t using music just now, Tom,” Chris said.
“That’s because he’s trying to put me out of a job,” Noah said.
“Sorry, but I don’t understand.”
“Noah used to turn pages for me when I performed in concert,” Tom said, “but these days, I mostly play from memory when I’m on stage.”
“That’s impressive,” Chris said. “But why go to all that trouble?”
