“Oh my goodness. That’s so much nicer than anything he’s ever had. He won’t know how to act.”

“What grade is he in?”

“He’ll be in the fifth grade in the fall, and he’s always been an A student, just like you were. In fact, he looks like you did when you were his age.”

I really don’t want to travel down memory lane right now, he thought.But how the heck do you refuse to humor a dying woman? “I’m going to try to see the lawyer this morning. Grandma says that he isn’t too busy these days.”

“If you call him around eight thirty, he’ll probably tell you to come right over. His office is in his house, now that he’s mostly retired.”

“That’s what I’ll do, then. Would you like to see the rest of the house?”

“Oh, yes.”

He took her through the rooms one by one, and she seemed overwhelmed.

“However did you manage to find such a house?” she said.
