“Got a pen?” Noah said.

“Sure. Why?”

“Because I sort of accepted an invitation for us to have lunch in Gainesville next Saturday with my grandparents,” Noah said. “Is that okay?”

“Sure. I’m assuming that Grandpa will be as accepting of us as your grandmother.”

“Oh yeah. He’s just retired from the university. He was a professor in the history department, and he’s very open-minded. That’s one of the reasons he doesn’t like my father.”

“Cool. Let me make a couple of calls, maybe we can combine business with pleasure.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Have you forgotten? Check the calendar. I’m performing down there in September. Hopefully, I can schedule some practice time after our lunch.”

“Great,” Noah said. “Now can we go to bed?”

“Need you ask?”
