Chapter 62

“Feel free to join us as our guests at the Y sometime,” George said.

“We swim laps three times a week at the pool at Good Shepherd,” Tom said, “and work out in the weight room either at Kent Campus or out at UNF, none of which costs us anything, but thanks, anyway.”

“Yeah,” Mike said, “but do they have a sauna or steam room at either of those places?”

“No, they don’t,” Tom said. “Perhaps we’ll take you up on that offer one of these days.”

They talked some more, but finally it was time to leave. “This has been fun,” Tom said, “and we’ll have you over soon, as long as you don’t mind eating in the kitchen.”

“Don’t you have a dining room?” Mike said.

“We do,” Tom said, “but there’s no furniture in it. That space is reserved.”

“May I ask for what?” George said.

“Our smallest bedroom is our office and music studio,” Tom said, “and we have a console piano. However, my paternal great-grandmother has a hundred-year-old grand piano that will be mine one day.”
