“I’m going to follow his example,” Chris said.
“I will too,” Mickey said.
Mickey turned the reading lights out and crawled into bed with Chris.
“I wish we could take advantage of this opportunity,” he said.
“That’s probably not the best idea you ever had. We can wait until tonight.”
“Yeah.”
They were awakened an hour or so later by the sound of sirens coming from somewhere below their second-floor room. Chris walked to the window and looked out.
“Looks like somebody ran into a telephone pole right at the entrance to the parking lot,” he said.
“What time is it?” Mickey said as he rubbed his eyes awake.
“Eleven thirty.”
“Wow! We slept a long time.”
“That’s because our bodies needed the sleep,” Chris said.
Ted sat up in his bed. “Did I go to sleep?”
“You sure did,” Chris said. “I put your book on the night table, but it was closed, so I couldn’t save your place.”
“That’s okay, I remember what I was reading.”
